Remembering U Street - An Evening Walking Tour!
oin the African American Women's Resource Center and Sisterspace and Books on Friday, Aug. 24th, at 7 p.m. for an evening stroll down memory lane. Visit some of the wonderful clubs and restaurants located on U Street-then and now! Many of these vital establishments are located on U Street between 7th and 16th Streets, NW. See the sites of the Dunbar Hotel, Republic Gardens, Café Nema, Bar Nunn, Ben's Chili Bowl, Bohemian Caverns, Cada Vez, the Lincoln Theatre, and many more. The tour begins at the Metro-accessible Sisterspace and Books, 1515 U Street, NW. After the tour, experience the magic of U Street's food and fun.

The cost for the event is $14 per person and includes professional guide Laverne Holmes, founder of SiteSeeing Tours, champagne or cider, music and fellowship! To register, call the African American Women's Resource Center at 202-332-6561.
